This crushable orange-amber hued haze bomb greets you with juicy citrus and tropical fruit notes from the large additions hops. NE Cashmere and NE Triple Pearl lend themselves to subtle melon and strawberry aromas. Hints of resin, earthiness, and spice round out the nose. Columbus Hop Hash gives a clean bitterness without being overpowering. Vienna adds a touch of malt richness while not outshining the hop bill.
This is a nice easy drinking wheat beer with a little grain character from the flaked wheat. Malted wheat adds a slight citrus flavor. Hopping is intentionally low to allow malts to shine and not overpower the delicate fruit character.
MÁS MEXICAN LAGER
Our homage to the easy drinking beers brewed in Mexico (para nuestros parientes y amigos). These brews were inspired by and, in some cases, originally brewed by German and Czech brewmasters. The use of Midwest corn really brings this beer home for us.
BRICK RED ALE
An easy drinking beer with just enough complexity to make it interesting. Brick Red Ale drinks like a lager, with the attitude of an ale. Nutty aroma gives way to mild sweet caramel flavor and subtle background hops, with a smooth finish.
KASHMIR KUSH DIPA
We rubbed some hops at the Nebraska Hop Yards. One of the standouts was Cashmere. Intensity was readily apparent as we opened the sample, and everyone agreed the dank strawberry character was outstanding. The mash bill to include a relative of hops, hemp seeds, to showcase the aroma with malts and hops providing a tasty blend. In addition to the strawberry notes, the hops lend a bit of citrus. The hemp seeds add some nutty background character.
SUNRISE MEXICAN COFFEE STOUT
Black and opaque, with a fine dark tan head, this double stout greets you with rich coffee and notes of chili pepper. As it warms, more cinnamon and chocolate arrive on the nose. Full bodied, rich and creamy with a slight bitter dark cocoa flavor.
OATED IMPERIAL STOUT
Oats add to the body and mouthfeel of this strong dark ale while the addition of kettle sugars gives it a lighter feel to this sweet strong stout. A layer of rhum character greets your nose and the flavor melds beautifully with the base beer. Rhum Agricole barrels from the French Antilles were used in aging this beer.
ART’S BLACK LAGER
This year we acquired some locally grown hops from Hulu north of Des Moines and decided to slightly reformulate an old favorite, Art’s Black Lager (originally styled after the German Schwartzbiers) to complement the hops. Unfiltered so you get to enjoy the flavor of the balance of malt and hops. Na zdravi!
IOWA SMASH PILS
WASEYA CREME ALE
A golden light easy drinking beer with low hop character. A crisp, delicately balanced beer that will go well after a day mowing the lawn.
SHARP STREET STOUT
This is our darkest offering, but many who proclaim to “not like dark beer” have turned a surprised eye. Sweet and full of roasted grains with hints of chocolate and coffee, resulting in a rich finish.
BREAKDOWN BROWN ALE
A brown ale with a bit more bite. A few more bittering hops and a late hop addition that take the complexity to a new level. Expect a little more bitterness and a citrus finish in addition to a chocolaty, slightly roasted, medium bodied backbone.
OH MY OATWINE
Barleywine Style Oat based Ale.
NO PADDLE IPA
Not as bitter as some and darker than most, you will not be disappointed with this IPA. No Paddle is an American IPA centered around hop flavor. The medium-light body with a caramel presence is a literal palette for our hoppy creation.
OLD MARATHON BARLEYWINE
British strong style ale with a chewy malt base that includes two types of caramel malt from Germany with our favorite pale malt from the north of Great Britain. The flavor and aroma hops are generous but not overwhelming. Barleywine style ales are so named because of their alcohol level and because they are all grain. The barrels were chosen for the vanilla and coconut character they contribute to the finished beer.
Farm House Ale with addition of local honey.
This Oktoberfest is a Southern German inspired FESRBIER much like the old Marzenbiers. Keg Creek’s is a beer that is malty but not too heavy; perfect for fall. Unfiltered so you get to enjoy the flavor of the balance of malt and hops. Prost!
Lemon forward gose with hints of coriander and salt.
